WHAT DOES THE RESULT MEAN?
The PLP should not misread what the result of the general election of 16 September means. It is true that the majority of the seats are vastly in favour of the PLP but that does not mean that every soul is a PLP. The PLP has won the majority of the votes cast. There are plenty who stayed at home and that is the question the PLP ought to be asking themselves: why did that happen and what can the PLP do to re-engage that group that stayed home? To be sure some of it must be due to the pandemic but is some of it due to apathy and if so what does that mean going forward? We just want to say to the PLP: be careful how you interpret what happened on Thursday past. It is imperative that the same thing that happened to Hubert Minnis does not happen to the PLP.
