WASHINGTON, D.C. — His Excellency Dr. Eugene Newry (right), Bahamas Ambassador to the United States, met with H.E. Mr. José Ramón Cabañas Rodriguez, Ambassador of Cuba to the United States, on Tuesday, March 6, 2017, at the Embassy of The Bahamas, 2220 Massachusetts Avenue, N.W. The two envoys discussed matters of mutual interest to their countries, including a collaboration on a Washington, D.C.-based cultural project. Ambassador Cabañas was accompanied by Ms. Karen Diez, First Secretary.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — His Excellency Dr. Eugene Newry, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States, is pictured signing the Book of Condolences for former Haitian President René Garcia Préval at the Embassy of the Republic of Haiti, 2311 Massachusetts Avenue, N.W., on Thursday, March 9, 2017. Mr. Preval, a two-time president of Haiti, died Friday, March 4, at the age of 74, at his home in Laboule, a suburb of the capital city of Port-au-Prince. Mr. Preval was President of Haiti from 1996 to 2001 and from 2006 to 2011.
