THE TROOPS IN ABACO STILL SUFFERING
The Prime Minister Hubert Minnis made a big show of announcing that he was waiving VAT in Abaco and Grand Bahama, after he was challenged by Chester Cooper MP to do so. He flew down to Abaco to make the announcement. One supposes that is fine but the troops in Abaco are unhappy. They are left without food and shelter and adequate transportation. The government refuses to deal with it. They pay no attention at all to the comfort of the police and the defence force. The foreign troops are much better housed and cared for. It is simply our job to point out the bad news of the state of the troops since Hurricane Dorian.
