The Stupidity of Daylight Saving Time
The late Lilla Mitchell (pictured), the mother of Senator Fred Mitchell, never got involved in politics or public policy except for one time of the year. Senator Mitchell recalls that every year when Daylight Saving Time was implemented she would write the Prime Minister and ask why they would not simply leave the time alone. Senator Mitchell has inherited the dislike for it as well. It just seems silly. It causes dislocation and discomfort. For the late Mrs. Mitchell she told Prime Minister Lynden Pindling that she had enough trouble getting her children up for school on a normal day but when the time changed it was a nightmare. We say let’s leave the friggin’ time alone.
