The country was pleased to learn that Prime Minister Philip Davis received an honorary degree as Doctor of Humane Letters from the Middle Tennessee State University near Nashville, Tennessee where he was the commencement speaker on 7 May 2022. The university is headed by Dr. Sidney McPhee who is a Bahamian and an example of the success of Bahamians abroad. This is only the fifth time in the history of the university that it has given an honorary doctorate. Congratulations to the Prime Minister and to Dr. McPhee. The Prime Minister hails from The Bight, Cat Island and Rolle Avenue in Nassau and Dr. McPhee from Mayaguana and from Englerston in Nassau. They have come a far way.
