THE PM GATHERS THE TROOPS ON CRIME

On Sunday 27 March 2022, the Prime  Minister Philip Davis called together his crime fighting troops: the police, the defence force, the civil society including the Women’s Crisis Centre representatives. He had his Cabinet there as well. They got a briefing on the state of crime in the country and there was a discussion on what we can do to stop the gang related bloodletting on our streets. Nothing new came out of it but the police are now back in the schools.  The Opposition Leader and his Deputy who both came to the meeting providing a laundry list of ideas; he then went on to release them to the press, saying that the Government should already have had a plan and should not have been searching for ideas.   What was that about al of us working together?  It came off as sandbagging.
