THE MARCH WITH MCALPINE GETS TONGUES WAGGING | 7 June 2019 Labour Day In Freeport
Last week, as the march in Grand Bahama for Labour Day on 7 June 2019, wound to a close, the Labour movement asked all those on the front lines of the march to link arms. In the front two rows were the political and labour leaders. So, Frederick McAlpine, MP FNM and dissident, linked arms with Fredrick Mitchell, PLP Senator and Chairman on the one hand and Chester Cooper MP on the other hand. The press put two and two together and made that five. There is no immediate prospect of Mr. McAlpine joining the PLP but Leader of the PLP Brave Davis indicated that he would welcome him if he came to the PLP. Mr. McAlpine for his part told the press not to read anything into it.
