THE CENTRAL BANK’S JACKASS OF THE MONTH LITTRELL
We reviewed two articles during the week by Charles Littrell, the head bank and trust company overseer at the Central Bank of The Bahamas, reported in The Tribune on 10 November 2021. He is Australian we understand and maybe a plant there forced on the bank by the International Monetary Fund. Problem is his language is that of a jackass. It is clear that he is a specialist in indelicate language and if he does not like the country he is working in, he should be given his walking ticket. The Governor of the Central Bank should speak to this jackass and tell him either he shuts his friggin mouth or go out the back door back to Australia and the Outback. Here are his words to Bahamian consumers: If people are too lazy to switch, then it’s their own damn fault. Don’t come complaining to us about fees when you could have switched.” His other language on the double standard between the U S and ourselves on banking, misrepresents what the position of the Government of The Bahamas is on the question of the standards being applied to the financial services sector. While, you can have your private opinions as a public official it is not in his place to make those comments about the United States. Lest there be any doubt they do not as far as we know represent the official position of the government of The Bahamas. What was most offensive however was the attack on Bahamian consumers. Mr. Littrell blames Bahamian consumers for having a more expensive time banking because they choose to go to the bank rather than bank on line. Again not his business and people are free to do what they want to do. Anyway that’s our thought on the matter. Get our ass back home to Australia if you don’t like it here and if you think we are dumb and stupid.
