State Of The FNM In Disarray
Every week or other, there is some stupid press release from a lost soul in the FNM called Carl Culmer Jr. He is the Chairman of the FNM but is proving himself to be more of a buffoon than the Speaker of the House of Assembly. Faced with the latest debacle by his party, the announcement of the phantom 5.5 billion dollar investment for an oil bunkering facility in Grand Bahama, he accused the PLP of trying to stop progress. Who writes these stupid things for him? If he had checked he would have seen that the Prime Minister Hubert Minnis, the Leader of his party, said the reason they were going ahead with the investment was because the PLP had approved it. Not true but he said it. So this is a real case of wanting to have your cake and eat it. The point we make is that he FNM is simply totally lost. After nine months in office, they have no idea what they are doing and what they need to do. Every week, the Brent Symonette faction of the FNM is buy giving away another sector of the country. Last week, the immigration minister said he as thinking of waiving work permits altogether for a certain sector of the business community. This has been his record since he returned to office, with every foreign friend he has goes running to him and he gives them a work permit. It would really be comical if it were not so serious. The FNM is in disarray. Peter Turnquest, the Finance Minister, has no idea what he is doing. Can’t even count right. They say he is trying to bring Simon Wilson back now because they are dissatisfied with their new choice for Financial Secretary. Well at least Peter Turnquest is upset with choice and wants Simon Wilson back. The Prime Minister is having none of it. So there we go, the government that we have after one year is mixed up conch salad.
