RBDF The Butt Of Jokes
Last week came the report that the HMBS Rolly Gray, one of the nine new boats purchased by The Bahamas government under Minister of National Security Bernard Nottage, ran aground just outside the Coral harbour home base of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF). This makes two out of the nine new boats out of commission because of accidents due to negligence. The Prime Minister Hubert Minnis caused a stir when in his usual awkward and inelegant manner told the RBDF Commodore at public function that this fellas should stop “mashing up our boats”. The cartoon followed on social media. The serious point is that the leadership of the RBDF must be called into question because this is happening too often. You cannot take a boat out safely from your won harbour that you traverse regularly.
