To confirm it publicly Mr. Bain spoke fulsomely about what a great man Prime Minister Perry Christie is and how he has a heart for people. Mr. Brian said that no matter that he ran against the PLP in the last election, Mr. Christie would always accept his call and told him that he was his friend. The remarks of Mr. Bain were made at the groundbreaking for the Fishing Hole Road in Freeport on Friday 18th December. Mr. Bain follows the announcement about Wayne Munroe Q C former DNA candidate. It is anticipated that a former FNM Minister is to rejoin the PLP shortly. The statement of the PLP Chair Bradley Roberts follows:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The PLP family welcomes Norris Bain
Bradley B. Roberts
National Chairman
Progressive Liberal Party
Continuing with the theme of a ‘big tent,’ the Progressive Liberal Party has a big tent and a rich and proud legacy of attracting high quality young men and women committed to public service. We have given national platforms to many of our finest sons and daughters to use their unique God given talents to advance national development for the betterment of ALL Bahamians.
The party continues that tradition and legacy today. Like Senator Gregory Burrows, Mr. Norris Bain has selflessly dedicated his entire life to youth empowerment and development through the discipline of sports and will serve his country well in the area of public policy. He is well respected in the Grand Bahamas community and within the sporting community across the nation. His work in securing countless scholarships for young Bahamians with foreign universities gives him international respect and credibility. This capital and currency Mr. Bain brings to the proverbial must be fully utilized and spent in achieving our goals of national development. The issue at hand is our youth – our future.
Our political philosophies are aligned and this makes for a good fit.
The party welcomes Mr. Bain’s enormous gifts as a complement to the government’s aggressive youth, sports and cultural development initiatives. The government has published a National youth Policy and is executing its master plan for sports development not only in New Providence but around the family of islands; this includes sports academies. As the country methodically plans its development through the mechanism of its National Development Plan VISION 2040, the talents and vision of Mr. Bain as a voice of credibility around the table on youth and sports development matters augur well for the future of our youth and The Bahamas.
Once again the PLP family welcomes Mr. Norris Bain.
