PLP Should Change How They Elect Leaders

Alfred Sears who just got a nomination from the PLP to run for his old seat Ft. Charlotte says that he is willing to challenge Perry Christie for the Leadership of the PLP. Hmmmm. This is a great time then to make the following proposition. The Conservative Party in the United Kingdom is having a leadership election to replace David Cameron as their Prime Minister and Leader of the Party. They have first a nomination contest by the Parliamentarians and then the two top voters are put to the members of the Conservative Party nationwide. We think that the PLP should consider doing this. In other words, the election for Leader of the party should not be held and decided only by the delegates to the convention but rather by all people who are members of the party nationwide. This change should come about when the next election for Leader is held.
