PLP Chair Slams The Nassau Guardian
STATEMENT FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PLP
ON THE NASSAU GUARDIAN’S TRASHY EDITORIAL THIS MORNING 17 MAY 2019
A NOTE TO ALL PLPS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 17 May 2019
We never thought we would say this, but The Nassau Guardian should read The Tribune these days if they want to know how to write an editorial.
An editorial is supposed to be a statement of the studied position of a newspaper, not the venting of someone’s personal dislikes. The editorial of 17 May 2019 of The Nassau Guardian makes the extraordinary statement that the PLP’s leadership team of Davis, Cooper and Mitchell are “gabby”; that they are always releasing statements.
How stupid can The Guardian get? So when the Nassau Guardian’s reporters call up or when The Nassau Guardian’s talk show hosts ask any of the trio to appear on their programmes, should mum now be the word from them?
This is an extraordinary sentiment from an organization that sells statements and information for its bread and butter. They must have a screw loose somewhere upstairs. Hatred can make you lose all sense of reason.
The PLP and these gentlemen are public figures; they therefore have public positions, not just private positions. Their craft is public policy, not private ruminations.
All PLP supporters should note this stupidity, hatred and the irrationality by The Guardian for what it is: simply stupidity, hatred and irrationality.
Like all good FNM organizations, The Guardian would simply want to frighten the PLP into silence.
That ain’t gonna happen.
They can put that in their pipe and smoke it.
