PETER TURNQUEST’S DEFICIT SPENDING REDUCTION DONE
Peter Turnquest, the Minister of Finance, is one of the laughing stocks of the hurricane. He is known across the country as Mr. Deficit for his singular preoccupation with cutting the budgetary deficit. Just before the hurricane struck, he was banging on the table about how he had cut the deficit to the lowest in ten years. His attitude is that he is the best Minister of Finance the country has ever seen and all the previous ones, including ones from his own party didn’t know what they were doing. The PLP told him not so and further that one hurricane and his whole budget fantasy would vanish into think air. So, said so done. Hurricane Dorian now has the Minister of Finance saying that well he will miss maybe 200 million dollars in revenue this year. What you think that does to the deficit?
