Message To Minnis: Don’t Fall Into Error

You would have to laugh except this is serious.  The word is that the government intends to assign ACP Paul Rolle and Superintendent Matthew Edgecombe as part of an anti-corruption unit in the police force to be newly established.  Here we go again.  This is the same playbook of the ill-fated Hubert Ingraham administration.  The FNM has no plans or programmes but they have power.  As a substitute for their lack of vision they will put on this huge show like they are so disciplined, and frugal in spending and that they guard the public purse. Part of their modus operandi is to try to demonize the PLP by the constant drum of corruption.  The fact is only one party is connected with corruption and that is the FNM.  An FNM Board Member at the then Bahamas Electricity Corporation was convicted of accepting 300,000 dollar bribe.  In the last time Hubert Ingraham was in office with Minnis as his Minister of Health, the police took two former MPs former questioning—one a former PLP Minister and the other a former FNM Parliamentary Secretary who opposed Ingraham in the  2007 elections.  The police kept these people under investigation for nearly the whole term, knowing that they had nothing on them and in the end let them go without a charge.  The idea is to frighten people, to intimidate them and to victimize them.  Already, the FNM is about taking cars away from people who have them for their jobs, taking away phones that need them for their jobs and taking away jobs.  The list of people crying will be endless.  But this is what the people of The Bahamas voted for.  Look what you could get when you’re tired of what you gat.
