News LABOUR DAY PARADE IN PICTURES IN NASSAU | 1st June 2018 We celebrate the first Friday in June as Labour Day because when Sir Randal Fawkes moved the resolution in the House to create the holiday he remembered and wanted to memorialize the Burma Road Riots of 1942, which took place on 1 and 2 June 1942. He described it as the first call cry for social, economic and political justice by workers in The Bahamas in the modern era. PLPs join the Labour Day parade each year and this year was no exception, led by Leader of the Opposition Philip Davis with his Deputy Leader Chester Cooper. Enjoy the photos
