IMF PREDICTION OF DOOM AND GLOOM FOR THE BAHAMAS WRONG
The IMF says that The Bahamas government will not be able to meet its deficit-reducing targets either this year or in the next years unless they raise taxes and introduce personal income tax. The PLP does not agree with the IMF on the deficit and neither do we. Financial Secretary Simon Wilson disputed the IMF’s assertion. As for personal income tax, we agree that there ought to be personal income tax on the top ten per cent of income earners in this country.
