Fr. Michael Gittens Ascension In Freeport Dies
The Anglican Rector of the Church of the Ascension Rev. Fr. Michael Gittens had died. He was getting ready for mass on Thursday 1 February when he was struck down. He had recently celebrated 15 years on kidney dialysis and was suffering from a bout of the flu. The death of Fr. Gittens coming so suddenly and in succession of the death of their believed previous Rector Bishop Cornell Moss has the congregation reeling. They came together quickly on that fateful Thursday night and with Archdeacon James Palacious representing the Bishop came together to give thanks for the life of Fr. Gittens. Rest in peace Father!
