FOREIGN MINISTER STOPS JEANNE THOMPSON KNITTING
Jeanne Thompson, the former Justice of the Supreme Court , now retired was sitting down knitting so she claimed in a letter to the press last week. She heard the announcement of the new Ambassadors for The Bahamas and she had to stop her knitting because according to her she had never heard of these before. She wanted to know whether the positions had been advertised and what the Ambassadors were being paid. So let’s start out: the appointments to international organizations are not so new. This is just the first time they have been so publicized. Ambassadors are paid by public funds and the salary for the posts are in the public domain. Obviously this is a lady who has nothing to do with her time. There are certainly more significant problems in this country than to worry about this.
