The Bahamas is set to be represented by a full delegation of legal and financial professionals at The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners’ annual Latin American Conference (STEP LATAM) scheduled to be held in Sao Paulo, viagra buy viagra Brazil from October 22nd to 23rd.
STEP is a worldwide professional association that seeks to promote best practices among its members. Its vision is to be “the pre-eminent worldwide professional association for those advising families across generations.” It provides members with access to educational, training and networking opportunities related to the field of personal finance management. STEP LATAM is the most significant regional conference for trust and estate professionals operating within Latin America. It was held in Mexico last year and promises to have the same sold out success in Sao Paolo.
The Bahamas delegation will be lead by the Honourable Hope Strachan Minister of Financial Services (MoFS) who will be accompanied by Ms. Aliya Allen CEO and Executive Director of the Bahamas Financial Services Board (BFSB) and representatives from various major wealth management and financial services companies and organizations within The Bahamas, including the MoFS, BFSB, Amicorp, Credit Suisse, Higgs & Johnson, Scotiatrust, Intertrust (Bahamas) Limited, Lennox Paton, The Winterbotham Trust Company Limited, Windermere Corporate Management Ltd. and International Protector Group Limited (IPG).
Minister of Financial Services Hon. Hope Strachan commenting on the conference, stated, “STEP LATAM is a great educational and networking opportunity for local professionals. It also provides an opportunity to highlight The Bahamas’ products, expertise and commitment to excellence within the financial services industry to the Latin American market”.
Minister Strachan further stated, “it is of the utmost importance that my Ministry continues to invest its efforts into ensuring that The Bahamas not only maintains the high standards that we have set for ourselves, but also to project our reputation and commitment to providing excellent financial services throughout the region and the world.”
Minister Strachan concluded “The Bahamas is a major regional player within the financial services sector and it is important that we participate in and contribute to regional and international discussions and conferences in key ways that are reflective of our position as a global leader in the financial services sector.”

Our introduction of the SMART Fund concept in the mid 2000’s and, more recently, our implementation of the Investment Condominium (ICON) Fund has placed us at the leading edge of the sector, as we have positioned ourselves to attract even more Latin American funds particularly in Brazil and Mexico.”
