The extra parliamentary party Democratic National Alliance was in the news last week when they held the first political rally of the current political season on Thursday 12 May on Christie Park in Nassau. They spoke on the theme “ I have had Enough”. The crowd was respectable which raises the spectre of them again being spoilers for an FNM victory but not convincing enough to threaten the PLP. It would seem that they are on track again to enhance the chances of a PLP victory. Nevertheless a good idea was advanced yet again by Branville McCartney, the Leader of the DNA, when he called for the decriminalization of marijuana. Mr. McCartney told the Nassau Guardian on Saturday 14 May that he was open to an alliance with the FNM in order to win against the PLP but the FNM was not open to the idea.
