Diplomats Visit North Andros

The group was greeted at the airport by Island Administrator Ivan Ferguson, BAMSI Principal Dr. Raveena Hanna and a host of other government officials from The Royal Bahamas Police and Defence Forces, NEMA, and BAMSI. The delegation was briefed on the relief, recovery and restoration efforts being undertaken in Andros in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. Before touring BAMSI, the group had the opportunity visit Lowe Sound, one of the hardest hit areas. The visit left a lasting impression on the participants, bringing into crystal clarity the devastation wrought by Hurricane Matthew, while at the same time recognition of the enormous potential that BAMSI represents to ensure livelihoods and food security for The Bahamas.
