Christie To Resign
It has been 4 days since the general election. Perry Christie has not spoken to the country since his defeat was confirmed on 12th May. He lost to Reece Chipman of the FNM by 4 votes. The next steps are that the National General Council of the PLP is expected to convene on Monday 15 May. Mr Christie should then communicate what his decision is with regard to resignation. If that follows as expected, then the interim leader should be the Deputy Leader Philip Davis until such time as the Council can convene a convention to choose a new leader. The convention we believe should be held not longer than 6 weeks from now.
