CHAMBER CHIEF IN GRAND BAHAMA OUT OF STEP ON VAT
The Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce Chief Greg Laroda should avoid being seen as a curmudgeon of the first order and a sour puss Every time there is something to help workers workers, the business community has some naysaying to enter into the public debate. Look Mr. Chamber Chief butt out. The people of this country need the minimum wage to be increased. That is why there is so much poverty in the country and people cannot make ends meet. They need more money in their pockets to keep up with inflation. Every day MPs have to help from their pockets to pay for the burial of the dead, the food for people to eat, for school fees. The attack on the minimum wage is just nonsense. As for the views about breadbasket items and VAT: this FNM propaganda line is nonsense is just reprehensible. When you go and put exceptions to VAT, you make it more expensive for the consumer. There are none so blind as those who cannot see.
