CARL DEFENDS THE WITCHHUNT OF PLP POLITICIANS
Trying to clean up his reputation, Carl Bethel, the losingest attorney general in the history of The Bahamas, was busy on Thursday 24 June 2021 in the Senate trying to clean up his reputation. He claimed that there is no witch hunt going on against PLPs. He said that the evidence was there to charge and without fear or favour the office did so. He used as an example that he had charged his former colleague Elma Chase, a former Government minister. The only problem he has is that both the cases of Frank Smith and Shane Gibson, former PLP Members of Parliament, the judiciary itself revealed that there was political interference in the cases and prosecutorial misconduct. There was no evidence in those cases and the charges should not have been brought. So Mr. Attorney, we do not accept your story.
