BRIAN SEYMOUR HAS HIS SAY ABOUT PLP BOARD PICKS
A Pill Too Large To Swallow
In September of this year, Dr. Hubert Minnis and the FNM was sent packing by the people of the Bahamas. To be sure the FNM four and a half (4 1/2) years government premature reign ended. When this was over, the national debt had doubled to historic levels; they brought this country on the verge of economic collapse; bad policy decisions and misbehaviour were the cause. To be fair, it was not just Dr. Hubert Minnis as PM, but his (expert) team that he assembled inclusive of ministers, parliamentary secretaries, senators and statutory board members; they are all collectively responsible for our state of affairs. Prime Ministers are ultimately responsible.
In recent days, photos of statutory board members have been circulating on various social media platforms. Among some of these board members have surfaced hardcore, unrepentant, and shameless supporters of the FNM. It is regrettable that some of these shameless members have been invited to sit around the banqueting table and feast on the spoils of victory.
To leave your troops unattended with dry, white mouth and parched lips is not good, and is playing with political fire. To ask of your supporters, accept your political foes as brothers, days after the general election, is asking them to swallow a pill that is too large. A word to the wise is sufficient.
