After much back and forth, accusations and claims…one of the artist initially involved in the Mad Talent Showcase Event has decide to speak out and stand up for the 242 performers. Popular singer-Sammi Starr says that he will not sit by while, persons continue to think they can take advantage of his Bahamian people and will not support any effort that is.
Starr who was scheduled to perform tonight, even after NOT paying the $50.00 audition fee says:

I have to comment. This IS a SCAM, it would have been a simple opportunity to perform if people hadn't spent money to audition, it wouldn't have been a scam if people weren't told that Major Record Label execs. were coming here to see these performances, This was advertised as an opportunity to be heard by these labels, not a concert, I'm one of the artists that was there when it started, I did sound check and everything, just like the others…..but I'm not gonna just go out and perform because there's an audience, that's not what this is about, Bahamian hopefuls spent money to audition because they were fed a bogus dream, people flew in to see the performances and aren't who they said they were…and that's not a SCAM, these guys were out on a boat talking about the money they made from auditions and this is NOT a SCAM? are you kidding me?…..there will be many more opportunities for our local artists to perform for our local audiences, they shouldn't have to subject themselves to being belittled in order to get an opportunity to perform….UNACCEPTABLE…this is MY opinion, share it if you will, if not…that's on you. I'm not performing nor attending….do what you will. I did and will continue to do my part standing up for our 242 artists…

This is Crap!!! So they basically switched the entire story. Listen to the ads, the man contradicted himself….Clean up one lie, with another. I can't believe people actually accepted another story. The point is,(sic.) They LIED and Took MONEY from hard working Bahamians and sold them a dream that wasn't true. Had I not said anything, he wouldn't have changed his story, think about it, all would have gone according to schedule and they would have walked to the bank laughing at the end of the day and all the artists still here…..well they still going to the bank, gotta deposit all that audition money….y'all have got to be kidding me, yall seriously accepting this mess?…….wow.

what does that mean? ……..if people listened to the radio, with Wes speaking himself…they would have heard him say, like I did, that "Record Label Execs were coming to give someone a deal", if people attended the meetings I attended, with Wes saying himself that "Record Label Execs are on their way so we need y'all to put on a good show to get yourself deal"……if people had gotten the phone call that I got with Wes on the other end of the line saying that "They already know about you and a few others and are looking forward to meeting y'all so y'all can get this deal…..are you gonna come get this deal or what?"….The tribune and the radio station work closely together…..they didn't misquote Wes, he said what they printed, He's just saving face by changing the story because he got called out and it's a shame that people are accepting this…I'm not, even if I'm alone, I'm not….

Bare in mind I'm not speaking out because I felt like I was SCAMMED..I never believed Him in the first place, I was there because I was looking at the showcase itself as a way to connect with my fellow artists, I'm speaking out because I was concerned about the other artists who are just trying to get passed that first stage and be seen and heard and PAID to do so….I didn't pay b/c I was told that I didn't have to pay….so why did anyone have to pay…Wes knows that he was lying from the beginning, he's scammed people before and is doing it again….he's really good with words and it seems like it worked again, nobody made anything up, it all came from Wes.
