Official Opening of the
Fox Hill Urban Renewal Office
Freedom Park, Fox Hill
Friday 26th May, 2006
Greetings & Salutations...
It is an honour and a pleasure to bring brief remarks at this historical and timely occasion on behalf of the Fox Hill Steering Committee. Our organization was founded in 2001 for the purpose which is embodied in our Mission Statement: “Working towards preserving and enhancing the cultural, physical, social and spiritual aspects of the Fox Hill Community through its people”. It is not religious or political, but a community organization which will support mutual efforts through religion, politics or other social programs. The Urban Renewal Program is one of those means which, through its various programs and funding, will offer youths a decent alternative to the present social and societal ills.
Today I am very proud to be here on the podium with the Rt. Honourable Prime Minister, whom I have been friendly with for many years. He is a very decent, honest and respectable gentleman. A man whose word is his bond and his interest in the community is sincere. A man who is more interested in people than self. A humble man who encourages harmony, fair play and respect. Prime Minister, we are extremely grateful for your foresight and kind consideration to bring this program to Fox Hill to assist in the community development through our youth whom we recognize are the future of not only our community but the nation.
To the Honourable Fred Mitchell, we are aware that constituencies benefit through the efforts and persistence of their Representative. Thank you very much for assuring that Fox Hill was one of the first to have received this valuable program. We hope that Fox Hill will benefit even more through the future plans you have for this community.
May the good Lord continue and bless you Prime Minister and the Hon. Minister with good health and wisdom in your duties.
Thank you all for your kind attention and May God bless you.
