THE FNM MPS SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES
So Michael Pintard has decided that his future relies on the scrapper defence. That is with foes pressing forth on every side, he will simply throw everything and the kitchen sink at his opponents, most of all the Progressive Liberal Party. It is interesting to watch this reconstruction, after sitting in a government which presided over the its own deconstruction without nary a public word from him .
In the House of Assembly on Wednesday 2 February 2022, the FNM led by Mr. Pintard was royally blue about the Prime Minister and Freeport. According to them, he was taking down the city. They were huffing and puffing about investor confidence and how Mr. Davis should not have said that people are reluctant to invest in Grand Bahama.
At one point when Mr. Pintard was called out on it for being dishonest, he stood up to defend his moral honour, taking it as a personal insult. Of course the comment was not made as personal comment. It meant he was politically dishonest. Nevertheless he struck back accusing his detractor as having the reputation of being a liar. Well he was a bit more clever than that direct insult but we get the point.
Problem is the FNM cannot talk about their love for Grand Bahama and Freeport. They presided over its deconstruction. They brought the fake Oban deal. They allowed the Hutchinson group and the Grand Bahama Port Authority to dump a broken down airport and an empty hotel on them for tens of millions of taxpayer dollars without putting up a fight. The city is in a state of collapse and it is all because of Hubert Minnis and the FNM government of which Michael Pintard was a part, as was Iram Lewis another huffer and puffer.
Well it’s left to the PLP to try and reconstruct the city. Get it back on its feet. Let’s do it sooner rather than later. But the FNM should be ashamed of themselves, crying those crocodile tears in the House of Assembly.
