Once the U S gets cranking, then the things begin to roll. So a few weeks ago, the entire Caricom region was in a panic as the supplies of vaccines against covid seemed to be running low. In Jamaica, they actually ran out. The Bahamas almost. The issue was complicated by the fact that demand for the vaccine was increasing, largely because the United States President announced that you had to get vaccinated in order to travel to the US. This did a lot to counteract the nonsense of the anti-vaxers in the region. So on Wednesday 3 November 2021, the Minister of Health Michael Darville was pleased to be able to hoof it down to the Lynden Pindling International Airport and accept 143k vaccines care of the United States in the preferred variety in The Bahamas the Pfizer vaccine.
