Bahamian Artist Harry Wallace’s Newest Exhibition

Nassau, Bahamas – This Spring, Artist Harry Wallace celebrated his inaugural art exhibition in a partnership with CornerTrader. This endorsement is significant as it directly connects the creative arts and private businesses. For the next four months, Harry Wallace collections will be on public display.
“It is a great opportunity that my first exhibit is endorsed by this multinational company. This signify the appeal of my art. One of my goals is to create contemporary Bahamian art that attract international attention. My work was designed with the ability to suit home and office spaces” – Harry Wallace explained.
Mr. Wallace’s art motif is colourful contemporary art which explores various mediums and styles. Wallace signature usage of colours tells different storylines. His work has been collected by top collectors throughout the Caribbean and Canada.
The art exhibition was a success, with strong attendance from real estate agents, government officials, bank executives, art enthusiasts, and business owners. Harry Wallace network with individuals while he explained his inspirations behind each art piece. Harry has a talent of tying Bahamian styles with international flare. This can be seen through his Goombay & Experiment collections which are both on display at CornerTrader. There were a number of paintings that symbolize the Goombay history of The Bahamas. Some of the key Goombay pieces signified famous local & international artists, such as Peanuts Taylor and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Vice President, Stefano Donati of CornerTrader was in attendance, and he spoke on how excited the bank is to partner with Mr. Wallace on this event. “One year ago, we open office here in the Old Fort Bay Plaza, Nassau and this is where we began to use our office to accommodate different artist and their art pieces,” said Mr. Donati. “The bank in general supports cultural events. The building was designed to display art and host art exhibitions,” he continued. This is the third exhibit hosted by CornerTrader. The first was an exclusive showcase of legendary Amos Ferguson collection on loan from The D’Aguilar Foundation. The Head of Private Banking, Birgit Ludig-Dridi was also in attendance to celebrate in this event.
Harry exclaimed “It is an honor to be shown in the same space as the iconic Bahamian artist, Amos Ferguson. Also, it is exciting to be the third artist to exhibit here. This invitation to showcase is an example of my reach as an emerging artist.”
Harry A. Wallace, is a self-taught, contemporary, Bahamian artist with an innate ability to create painted works and functional installation art. In 2015, Harry Wallace started to create art full-time in The Bahamas. Harry’s signature is his use of colour to capture essence of The Bahamas with international appeal. The exhibit at CornerTrader, is open for public viewing and purchasing for the next four months. This is a perfect opportunity for locals and visitors to see exclusive Bahamian artwork up close and personal.
