The PLP On The Integrity Commission Bill
Leader of the PLP Philip Davis has said that the new Integrity Commission Bill which will repeal the Public Disclosure Acts is intrusive and cumbersome. He said that the Bill requires a thorough examination by the PLP in its terms. He thought that if the bill came into law, there would have to be support mechanisms for the Members of Parliament and Senators to be able to comply with its provisions. He thought also that the question of whether some of its provisions were lawful had to be examined. The Government proposes to hold a seminar on the Bill for Parliamentarian’s on Monday 8th January. The PLP should oppose the Bill. The Leader’s remarks were reported in the Nassau Guardian 5 January.
