try times;”>Fred Mitchell MP at the burial of Ruby “Ma Rubie” Percentie in Harbour Island on Saturday 27 February.  Mrs. Percentie took over her husband’s businesses after he died unexpectedly in 1979 and left her with 8 children.  A widow with no or little formal education, health she ran the businesses, making them a roaring success and making her name a household name in Harbour Island. The Prime Minister Perry Christie and Mrs. Christie also attended the funeral, together with former Governor General Arthur Hanna, Ministers Glenys Hanna Martin, Obie Wilchcombe, Allyson Gibson and Shane Gibson, MP Richard Lightbourn. She is survived by her children among them Dr. Lee Percentie and Juanita Percentie.
