You will remember that the project that promised to bring 2500 new hotel rooms on stream and 5000 new jobs for The Bahamas this year has gone belly up and is in the hands of the receivers. Well the bank says that it is continuing to work at trying to get it resolved. It also said that it’s working to get the Convention Centre open for 2016 so that it can host the Inter-American Development Bank’s scheduled conference here in April 2016. Some 5000 international guests are expected in The Bahamas for the event. The statement by the Bank seems to buttress the positive statements being made by Prime Minister Perry Chrissie that the crisis involving the failed hotel project is about to be resolved.
