Our condolences to the family of the late Rev. Dr. Stanley Pinder, a Stalwart Councilor of the Progressive Liberal Party form Bimini. Rev. Pinder who was the Pastor and lead Bishop at the Zion Baptist Church in Bimini was a man of sterling character and of strict morals. He spent his professional life as the Restaurant Captain at the Big Game’s high end restaurant. He had a reputation for making sure, clothes were properly ironed, finger nails clean, and shoes were polished. If you showed up to work without all that in place, you are sent back home. No ifs ands or buts about it. His children gave him a good send doff in Bimini on Saturday 5 September . He was buried in the churchyard. Foreign Minister Fred Mitchell attended the funeral. The Prime Minister Perry Christie travelled form Nassau to be there as was the Minister of Tourism and MP for Bimini Obie Wilchombe, Transport Minister Glenys Hanna Martin and Attorney General Allyson Gibson. Another tragic note was that another Reverend was speaking at the memorial service on the night before Dr. Pinder’s funeral when he took ill and died in the church at the memorial service. Rev. Clyde Flowers became the latest of that Pindling generation of PLP leaders: Yama Bama, Cy Smith, Jerome Stuart, Glen Rolle, Stanley Pinder all went before him. Left standing George Weech, the former MP, Ansell Saunders Kirk Hinsey. The question is who is succeeding these men in the PLP as the fixtures of community?
